Brocade completes SteelApp buyout

BANGALORE:Networking solutions provider Brocade has completed the acquisition of SteelApp business unit from Riverbed Technology.

The addition of this product line will help Brocade strengthen its software networking portfolio for New IP data center deployments.

"Brocade is committed to open and emerging New IP technologies," said Kelly Herrell, SVP, Software Networking, Brocade.

"SteelApp's virtual ADCs (Application Delivery Controllers) significantly enhance our open Vyatta Platform offering for NFV (Network Function Virtualization) and SDN (Software Defined Network), which plays a major role in transforming traditional network infrastructure for enterprise, cloud and telco customers through the power of virtualization," Herrell added.

The SteelApp product line controls traffic to and from applications and enables fast, reliable, and secure application delivery to users anywhere from the cloud or data center, a release said.
