British Telecom BT has hired Alison Wilcox

NEW DELHI: British Telecom (BT) has hired Alison Wilcox from Vodafone as its new Group HR Director and she will be joining the company from July 1.

She is taking over from Clare Chapman who left BT in March, after three and a half years of stint there.

.Alison joins from Vodafone, where she has been the Regional HR Director for Europe for the past 18 months. Before that she was Regional HR Director for Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific for the mobile operator.

Alison’s experience and leadership will play a key part in helping BT deliver on the next phase of its strategy, which aims to deliver sustainable profitable revenue growth.

In a career spanning business consulting, policy and operational roles, Alison has worked across multiple industries at executive and board level to develop and execute HR strategies that deliver change.

Over her nine years with Vodafone, Alison developed extensive experience in international business, mergers and acquisitions, scale integration of communications assets in South Africa, India, UK, Germany and Spain, business turnaround and growth.

"BT is entering an exciting period; it is transforming the UK’s broadband landscape from superfast to ultrafast; it’s re-entering the consumer mobile market, and BT Sport and BT TV are going from strength to strength.
