ISS framework is used by 125+ customers worldwide in their routing and switching platforms.

SDN is rapidly emerging at the forefront of next-generation networking. By decoupling the control and data planes in network switches and routers, SDN enables rapid innovation and optimization of routing and switching equipment.

Aricent's SDN expertise covers the entire gamut of SDN technologies including SDN Controllers, OpenFlow Switches and Application APIs.

"Making the Intelligent Switching Solutions framework OpenFlow-ready further underscores our commitment to the SDN revolution," said Sridhar Raju, assistant vice president and head of the wireline communications practice at Aricent.

Aricent's ISS framework is compatible with hybrid OpenFlow switches and can be easily integrated into enterprise, transport, and data centre networks. Aricent is working on an array of SDN controller applications that include support for critical functions like operations, administration and maintenance, lawful intercept, and optimized mobile backhaul. SDN and OpenFlow have compelling use cases in VM mobility management, dynamic bandwidth management, network convergence, and mobile backhaul optimizations. The company has a strong focus on developing portable application frameworks for SDN controllers, especially the northbound APIs.
