Alcatel-Lucent upgrades LG Uplus network

Alcatel-Lucent inked a deal with South Korea-based service provider LG Uplus and it has completed the modernization of LG Uplus's network with the deployment of Internet Protocol/ Multiprotocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS) technology. Alcatel has enabled the company to increase broadband speeds and capacity. Alcatel-Lucent has provided LG Uplus with its 7750 Service Router (SR) portfolio to deliver more bandwidth and services to more subscribers, more efficiently. At the same time, LG Uplus is able to streamline its current network operations to deliver substantial savings in both capital and operational expenses. The solution deployed is part of the Alcatel-Lucent High Leverage Network (HLN). Rajeev Singh-Molares, President of Alcatel-Lucent Asia Pacific region said, In a market as digitally connected as South Korea, high-quality is key for service providers like LG Uplus to attract and retain customers.
