NEW DELHI: India’s top telecom service provider Bharti Airtel has deployed its 3G network in Odisha under “Project Leap” – the company’s recently launched network transformation program.

"This is one of the company’s many “Project Leap” initiatives aimed at perceptibly improving network quality and delivering the best customer experience in Odisha," the company said.

“As the telecom market leader in Odisha, it is our constant endeavor to consistently innovate and make investments that help us move closer to our vision of delivering a seamless network experience for our customers. In line with “Project Leap”, we have heavily invested in strengthening our network capabilities and are looking forward to delivering a transformed network experience for our customers here,” said Ravindra Singh Negi, CEO - West Bengal & Odisha, Bharti Airtel.

“Making it the largest deployment in a single year, Airtel has rolled out 1,800 3G sites in Odisha, thus covering 109 census towns in the region and taking a decisive lead in delivering a differentiated customer experience,” the telco claimed.

It has also bolstered its existing network of more than 5,000 2G sites and 8,564 kms of high fiber optic cable with an additional 234 2G sites this year and the introduction of 413 new 4G sites across 7 towns in Odisha (namely Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Rourkela, Balasore, Sambalpur and Barhampur) – thereby benefiting customers across the state.

Airtel’s “Project Leap”, the 60,000 crore network transformation program, is currently being implemented across the country. Airtel customers can now visit www.airtel.in/leap for the latest updates on its network modernization drive and get comprehensive information on the program’s progress at the local level.

The microsite allows customers to see the network coverage for voice, basic data services (2G) and high speed data services (3G/ 4G) in their regions. Key highlights relating to Airtel’s network transformation exercise at national and state level are also included. In the locality map, information on the status of modernization of all the Airtel sites in that locality can be seen. They will also be able to see sites planned in their localities,
