A10 Networks secures ADC deal from KDDI

NEW DELHI: A10 Networks, provider of application networking solutions, has received a contract from telecom operator KDDI Corporation for its virtual application delivery controller (ADC) appliance, the A10 vThunder ADC, as the preferred application delivery controller for the latter's corporate cloud infrastructure.

Customers subscribing to KCPS will be able to get the benefit from vThunder ADC features from July 30, including server load balancing, global server load balancing (GSLB), DDoS Protection and high density multi-tenancy.

KCPS is a cloud infrastructure service that can be used as a public, private or hybrid cloud, according to a company's needs, to support connections from both the Internet and intranets. It offers an SLA level of 99.99% as standard along with a expandable range of functions such as a site backup, to ensure business continuity.

In recent years, there has been an increased demand for load balancers equipped with advanced ADC functions that optimize applications for a superior user experience. Until now, the "legacy" KCPS load balancer service required users to purchase additional licenses in order to integrate extended functions other than load balancing. In addition, the virtual ADC license keys embedded in each instance had to be renewed yearly, resulting in increased costs and workload. To resolve these issues, KDDI selected A10's vThunder ADC appliance, a release said.

A10 vThunder ADC provides a variety of features to bolster cloud infrastructure service offering, and reduce operating costs and streamline internal workloads.
